Measuring electrodermal activity

What is EDA?

Electrodermal activity (EDA), also known as galvanic skin response (GSR), skin conductance (SC), or electro-dermal response (EDR) measures the changes in sweat production from sweat glands, resulting from automatic responses to internal and external stimuli.

Why is it used?

Researchers can use EDA to gain a better understanding of how a person is responding to a stimuli, when it may not be obvious from behavioural observation. It can indirectly measure:-
